HSA/FSA Frequently Asked Questions
HSA/FSA Overview
Yes. M.S Skincare works with Flex so you can pay with your HSA or FSA card. Because that money is set aside pre-tax, you effectively save around 30% versus paying with a regular card. Just choose the “Flex - Pay with HSA/FSA” option at checkout. If you don’t have your HSA/FSA card handy, you can pay with a credit or debit card and submit for reimbursement later, or split your purchase if you don’t have enough funds.
An HSA (Health Savings Account) and an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) both let you set aside pre-tax money for qualified health expenses, so using them is like getting a built-in 30% discount on eligible purchases. The main difference is that an HSA is yours for life, rolls over every year, and pairs with a high-deductible health plan, while an FSA is employer-owned and usually has a year-end “use-it-or-lose-it” deadline. Either way, you can use the card the same way to check out with Flex.
Flex is available for eligible customers; HSA/FSA savings vary based on individual circumstances and eligibility. Learn more at withflex.com/legal.
Add items to your cart and proceed to checkout. Select “Flex - Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment method, enter your HSA or FSA debit card, and check out as usual. If you don’t see the Flex option, you may be in Shop Pay, so choose “check out as guest” to see all payment methods.
It depends on the account. HSA funds roll over indefinitely, so they’re yours to keep. FSA funds often follow “use-it-or-lose-it” rules and may expire at year-end or after a short grace period, so it’s worth using them before your deadline.
Letter of Medical Necessity
A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is documentation from a licensed provider confirming that a product helps treat or manage a specific medical condition. The IRS requires one to use HSA/FSA funds on certain “dual-purpose” items. With Flex, you don’t have to track one down: we facilitate a chat-based telehealth consultation at checkout that is reviewed by a licensed clinician. If approved, Flex will provide your Letter of Medical Necessity for your records.
Flex facilitates a chat-based consultation directly at checkout. A licensed provider reviews your responses, and if approved, you will receive a Letter of Medical Necessity for your records. You can view your documentation in the Flex Consumer Portal.

HSA/FSA Subscriptions
Yes, it just works a little differently. Instead of selecting Flex at checkout, you’ll pay with a standard payment method. Then, from the Thank You page, select Flex so we can gather a bit more information and help you submit your purchase for reimbursement to your HSA/FSA provider.
Four quick steps:
- Pay with a standard payment method (any credit or debit card) at checkout.
- Select reimbursement on the Thank You page once your order is placed.
- Confirm your eligibility (for some products this includes a short telehealth review).
- Submit your HSA/FSA reimbursement claim to your administrator.
You can view your documentation and submit a claim directly from the Flex Consumer Portal.
Either works. You can submit each recurring purchase as it happens, or save them up and submit all at once. Two things to keep in mind. First, your order has to be dated on or after the date on your Letter of Medical Necessity to qualify (an LMN is valid for up to 12 months, and Flex will help you renew it after that). Second, if you’re using an FSA, plan to submit your eligible purchases within your plan year, which is usually the calendar year, since FSA funds are typically “use it or lose it.” Check your plan for the specific rules and requirements.
