Customers are saying
This styling clay offers natural ingredients and matte finish with mixed results. Customers praised "great hold" and "clean ingredients" for volume and texture. However, many noted significant formula changes since late 2024 making it "rock hard" and difficult to remove. Some found it greasy or lacking hold, while others loved the natural look and all-day flexibility.
- Great styling clay without weighing down your hair! Great hold and style without looking overstyled.
- This clay works perfectly for providing volume and hold all day! Also great smell and organic.
- Best stuff ever! Works without having to use a lot of product. Hands down the best!

I have very sensitive skin & am allergic to many products, so I'm limited to only a handful of shampoos. After long-term use, they tend to make my hair look flat & lackluster. Because of this, I'm always on the hunt for products I can alternate with to remove buildup & give my hair a healthier look. This has become one of my new favorite shampoos. I haven’t had any allergic reactions, & it does a fantastic job of removing buildup & getting my hair literally squeaky clean. It has a thick, creamy consistency that lathers richly with minimal product. The scent is pleasant, earthy. Similar to a cypress essential oil blend—refreshing without being overly perfumy.A single wash is enough to get my hair completely clean. It doesn’t leave my hair dry or brittle; instead, it gives it a healthy shine & extra volume. It can make my natural curls a bit frizzy, but nothing unmanageable. I follow up with a deep conditioner & leave-in smoothing oil when wearing my hair curly, while my regular conditioner works fine when I wear it straight. It also extends the time between washes, as my hair doesn’t start looking oily until about day three. With most other shampoos, my hair starts getting oily by the end of the next day. So, it’s been great for healthy maintenance.Overall, this is a wonderful shampoo with a lovely fragrance that feels high-quality & keeps my long hair looking healthy—without any negative skin reactions.
This conditioner is luxuriously thick. It moisturizes very well without weighing my hair down. I've noticed a significant reduction in how frizzy my hair gets. My hair looks so much more healthy. Also, I really like that the scent is unisex or slightly masculine without being the typical sandalwood/bergamot mix. The scent is herbal/woody/fresh. It's refreshing and it is subtle in my hair. This is a fantastic conditioner. It's perfection.
This hair conditioner is nice. The smell is subtle and well balanced. My hair feels soft, but we'll see how it works over time.
The conditioner smells amazing. This conditioner has great ingredients and your hair will feel soft after using it. A little goes a long way also so this will last for a while. I’m planning to get the shampoo for a better experience.
Not sure why this stuff is priced so high. It's pearly white and doesn't suds much, so I'm not sure if I'm getting clean. My hair does not feel very good afterward: kind of sticky and clumpy--begging for conditioner. The scent is very "masculine," like I just finished chopping some kind of wood. My husband agrees (I got this for him, but I had to try it, too.) So, yeah, it's like they took cheap shampoo, dumped a ton of fragrance in it, and put it in a fancy bottle. Oh, and the box came smashed because it was shipped in a bubble bag rather than a box.
After years of successfully using brand xyz, I decided I wanted to try something different and chose this one It's amoung the worst I've ever used. It felt like sandpaper putting it on, had very little scent and I still perspired. One morning I unscrewed the cap to use it and about a 1/4 or more of the deodorant was stuck in the cap so it went in the trash can and I'm back to using good old xyz.
I’m now questioning if this is the real product. The packaging was clearly ripped and taped back shut. I love this hair paste and was so excited to see it was on a discount but now I’m worried this isn’t the actual product
I am so, so, so disappointed. I have been using their original formulation for a few months. I got it a few years ago but only now started using it. I attached a photo here. The ingredient list of their original deodorant included no “fragrance”. It had a pleasant smell and worked amazingly. I have absolutely no idea why a company whose whole “thing” is to promote clean products/ clean ingredients would add synthetic fragrance when they can easily add organic essential oils. I’m so upset they changed the formula of their deodorant. Fragrance has been proven to disrupt hormones and can cause a plethora of health issues, especially to those who are already dealing with illness. I’m truly disappointed. Won’t be ordering from them again.
The headline says this all for me really, and aside from it being a tad expensive, even more than I pay for Crew, this is the nicest hair product I’ve used in years. For all the reasons below…Scent - a very lite citrus like scent makes you feel alive when using.Texture - just perfect, easy to use and apply without clumping in places and goes on smooth across the whole hair.Long lasting control and hold for the entire day.Washes out easily at night unlike some others.A small amount goes a long way (pea sized) making its value a bit better.Great little hockey puck like container made of solid glass, just be a bit careful not to drop on bathroom tiles etc.Great on short hair, not sure about long as don’t have long hair but my wife tried it and said it was nice too.All in all I love this product and don’t have any negative things to say, I’ll likely be buying this again down the road when needed.
I really like this product. Usually I've used medium hold pastes and although those are strong, I think it takes out some of my hair when styling. I don't have that issue with this one. It feels like a soft-medium hold and you can work your hairstyle easily with it. I have shorter hair and so far this stuff is lasting me a long time. The only downside about this product is how expensive it is. However I will say, if you have short hair, this will last for a long time. So I see it as paying a premium price for a quality product. If it ever goes on sale, I'd grab another.
I have fine long layered hair that likes to do it's static thing when the environment is dry. I've been looking for something that won't weigh my hair down, but help with the static fly aways. This "Jack Henry Hair Styling Cream for Men & Women - Lightweight Grooming Cream" does the trick for that. I've tried to like the scent though, but just don't. It's odd and hard to describe- it is very lightly scented, kind of a cross between something lemony and with a touch of liquorish, but overall the scent reminds me of a cleaning product, so I'll give this cream to someone who will like it better. 4 stars for doing the job; it lost one star for the odd scent.
You don’t need much of this Jack Henry hair paste to wind up getting a nice hold. I’ve tried it when my hair is wet and I’ve tried it when my hair is dry, since the directions state both ways work. For me, it only worked on my wet hair. Once my hair was dry, I just couldn’t find a way to work it through my hair without just making a mess. Full disclosure, though, I do have curly hair. Perhaps on straight hair, it would work just as well either way.The one disappointment was that I did not notice any improvement in my hair’s shine.
I used R&co, old spice, American crew and many other brands, they were either too tough, too sticky, smelly, or caused white dust or residue, sometimes they hold too hard or they were just not lasting, and some caused light itch if you didn't wash that hair end of the day. This small magic right here got my attention. It has that cool sensation, it feels like cold towel wrapped around your head, very nice and cool and light smell, it isn't sticky at all, doesn't get hard nor soft, perfect hold, did not build up any residue or dust at all, couple hours after messing with the hair when this was on it. You can wet it to get hold back again, and did not cause any itch. Now i need them to make a bigger jar, so i can buy one and use it for a month or two because this is very small. Also, you don't need to use too much, it leathers and spreads very well!
This is a great face wash for my husband. It has a great scent and makes his skin feel refreshed and clean. It also helps exfoliate and keeps his skin healthy. The bottle presentation is really nice as well, it is made of a heavy glass to help preserve the content. The pump works great and dispenses just the right amount. Overall great product!
I ordered the Jack Henry Hair Styling Cream for my thin hair to tame frizz, especially on humid days. The 1.6-ounce glass jar of water- based cream -infused with oils and botanicals has a pleasant scent that reminds me of anise and lemon, but in a good way. I've been applying a small amount to my fingers and working it through my freshly washed and dried hair to the ends. The fragrance dissipates quickly, and the cream smooths my hair without feeling greasy. I like that it doesn't weigh down my fine hair. The hair cream is made in the U.S. by jack henry, a California based small business. I am pleased with the product and would recommend it to anyone looking to tame frizz with a product that is good for your hair.
Had my husband not recently cut his hair, he said this would have not worked out for him. But with the length of his hair now, it does well. This is like a thick cream. He said it isn't nearly as easy to spread through his hair as gel, and kind of bunches wherever you put it. I told him to try adding water to the paste before applying, so if that does better tomorrow, I'll come to edit.He typically prefers gels that give that shiny slicked back look, which this sort of gives. He wanted to be sure to point out that it does not give enough hold for longer hair. It's not quite a workable hold, but also not super strong. The scent, however, is delightful and mild!He said he would buy this again, but not quite for the price its currently listed at, "$28 is too much for a little jar of hair cream, I just want my hair to stay" (he does not know what his hair products usually cost, though, unless it's what he bought at the dollar store 😂)
My husband used this and said it gave a medium, matte hold which he liked. It has a soft scent and is made of some organic ingredients however the other ingredients that are not organic are still decent ingredients.
I like that you don’t need to apply a lot of product to style your hair. I also like that the scent is very mild and it doesn’t leave any residue when it dries. I like that the hair style stays put all day long. The only thing I don’t like about this product is that when it dries, it leaves my hair feeling rough and almost greasy… Other than that it a good product to style your hair.
