Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Sertodo Boston Copper Cocktail Shaker Set a Sertodo original?

Sertodo has been making hand hammered copper barware since 1997, from a workshop in Austin, Texas with artisan partners in Michoacán, Mexico. The Boston Copper Cocktail Shaker Set is shaped from a single piece of recycled pure copper and finished by hand, so no two are identical.

Is the Sertodo Boston Copper Shaker Set safe for cocktails?

Yes. Sertodo barware is 100% pure copper, unlined by design so the metal itself is part of the drinking experience. Copper is safe for short-contact drink service. For high-acid mixers like citrus juices or vinegar shrubs, build and pour rather than storing the mix in copper overnight.

How do you clean and care for the Sertodo Boston Copper Shaker Set?

Hand wash with warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft sponge, then dry right away with a soft towel. Never use a dishwasher, steel wool, or abrasive pads on copper. To restore the shine, rub with a cut lemon dipped in salt, rinse well, and dry. If it holds drinking water, refresh the interior every few weeks with lemon juice, salt, and warm water.

Will the copper affect the taste of my cocktail?

Copper chills fast and holds cold, which is why bartenders reach for it for stirred cocktails, Moscow Mules, and neat pours. Shaking in copper delivers a colder, more integrated finish than steel. You may notice a slightly crisper first sip.

What Sertodo pieces pair with the Boston Copper Shaker Set?

Round out the bar with the Sertodo Copper Ringer Bar Spoon and the Sertodo Double-Sided Copper Jigger. Sertodo barware is designed as a family, so shakers, jiggers, spoons, and shot cups share the same hand hammered finish.

What if it isn't right for me?

Sertodo accepts returns within 30 days on unused items, with a handling fee that is typically 5% (up to 25% depending on condition). Ship it back trackable, ideally in the original materials; refunds are issued after inspection, and original shipping is not refundable. Every piece also carries Sertodo's lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. Contact orders@msskincare.co to start.

Customers praised the exceptional quality and craftsmanship, noting "heavy, gorgeous copper" construction. Many love how it keeps beverages cold without ice. Some mentioned sizing runs smaller than expected, with 16oz cups holding liquid "to the very top." A few noted copper tarnishing requires maintenance. One shaker had sizing issues but customer service quickly replaced it.

They have some weight to them without being overly heavy and they are beautiful.
The conductivity of cold liquids like iced tea. No need for ice cubes! Amazing.
Such good quality and so well-made that they will become family heirlooms.

Loving it!

Followed the cleaning instructions, added water the night before, and drank water the next day. It really helped with some inflammation we had going on, and gave us some energy too. Loving this!

Ver Elegant and Tasty Water!

I was a little skeptical of the copper-taste but I’m sold. This was a great investment. Beautiful craftsmanship. Super easy to install and fits a 2.5gallon as expected. Highly recommend.

New to copper cup

I have been slowly increasing my intake of water in my copper cup. Dont take long until the shiney turns dull with dark spots. Any tricks to keep it shinny?

“Weight” and see!

We’ve had several copper cups through out our lives but these cups are perfect. Not just the perfect size but a nice substantial weight. It is just the right everything!

Stunning Gift!

We were looking for a high quality copper gift for our son and daughter-in-law’s 7th wedding anniversary. BOOM! This is a perfect gift which will become a lifetime keepsake (and a wonderful piece for entertaining and/or daily use!). I highly recommend this company and product.

Drinking in style

If you’re wondering if these glasses are worth the price, the answer is YES. They have some weight to them without being overly heavy and they are beautiful. I drink a decent amount of water, but I catch myself filling them up over and over because I seriously love drinking from them.

Love my new Sertodo bowl!!

I have been looking for a copper bowl for a while, and finally purchased the Sertodo 2.5 Qt (10 in. diameter) bowl. It is absolutely beautiful, and will be perfect for making whipped cream. I am very impressed with the craftsmanship and it's way too pretty to store in a cabinet. I wasn't sure about which size to get, and the 2 Qt is perfect. I included the blender in the picture to give some perspective on the size.
