Our hammered copper basin is an incredibly durable cookware made for presentation and specialized cooking. Jam pans, carnitas, polenta, chilling wine and beer, bobbing for apples, bathing babies---your imagination is the limit. Made from a single piece of heavy gauge copper, these copper basins are functional and versatile pieces for various purposes in your home.

A traditional cooking vessel used in cultures throughout the world for centuries, some variation of this basin has been in continuous production in our region since the arrival of the Spanish to Mexico. We began selling these out of the back of our truck over twenty years ago. Those first basins are still in use today! Functional, versatile, durable and popular for the last 500 years!

Shipping & Returns

All items ship directly from Sertodo in their original packaging.

For returns, we have a 30-day return policy on unused items. We do have a return handling fee, which is normally 5-25%, depending on the condition of the piece. Most items are at a 5%, which covers light cleaning on pieces that were opened and handled. The only time we implement a higher fee is when the piece is returned used. This is very rare.

Please ship the item back using a trackable method. Please try to use the original shipping materials to avoid any damage during transit.
Refunds will be issued once Sertodo has received and inspected the item.
Shipping charges are non refundable.

How do you clean and care for the Sertodo Permian Basins?

Hand wash the copper body with warm soapy water after each event, dry it right away, and polish with a cut lemon dipped in salt before the next service. Never machine wash copper or scrub it with steel wool or abrasive pads. Stored clean and dry, hand hammered copper holds up to years of professional service and develops a warm patina between polishes.

Can the Sertodo Permian Basins handle a full service load?

Yes. Wall thickness is culinary grade (1.5 to 3 mm), so the Permian Basins hold cold longer than thin decorative copper. Fill with ice, chilled wine, or champagne, and the basin performs as a working service piece and centerpiece at once.

I have been looking for a copper bowl for a while, and finally purchased the Sertodo 2.5 Qt (10 in. diameter) bowl. It is absolutely beautiful, and will be perfect for making whipped cream. I am very impressed with the craftsmanship and it's way too pretty to store in a cabinet. I wasn't sure about which size to get, and the 2 Qt is perfect. I included the blender in the picture to give some perspective on the size.
