The Cooling Digestive Spices are Surya's pitta-balancing culinary blend, non-heating but rich in flavor. What sets them apart is a soft lineup led by coriander, cumin, fennel, and licorice, formulated by Martha Soffer to season food generously without pushing digestion into any extra internal heat.

The Cooling Digestive Spices blend coriander, cumin, fennel, ginger, jaggery, licorice, and turmeric inside a 1.55 oz tin. Surya sources each spice for its traditional Ayurvedic role in pitta care, meaning cooling and digestion-friendly rather than warming or stimulating like the Energizing blend on the shelf.

Add a teaspoon of Cooling Digestive Spices to warming ghee at the start of cooking dahl, vegetables, or grains. Surya also sprinkles the blend over rice, roasted zucchini, or yogurt-based dips as a finishing seasoning, keeping the meal flavorful but light and gentle on the palate throughout.

The Cooling Digestive Spices are formulated for pitta balance, meaning stretches of hot weather, spicy diet, or intense workload that leave digestion inflamed. Surya designs them to sit inside the same pitta family as the Cooling Body Oil, so heat gets addressed from the plate and skin at once.
