The Energizing Digestive Spices are Surya's kapha-balancing culinary blend, well-spiced without being spicy. What sets them apart is a warming lineup of ginger, black pepper, cardamom, fenugreek, and turmeric with jaggery, formulated by Martha Soffer to enliven mind and body when cooked into meals or added at the table.

The Energizing Digestive Spices blend asafetida resin, black peppercorn, cardamom seed, coriander seed, cumin seed, fennel seed, fenugreek, ginger root, jaggery, and turmeric root inside a 1.65 oz tin. Surya sources each spice for its traditional Ayurvedic role in stoking digestive fire gently.

Add a teaspoon of Energizing Digestive Spices to warming ghee or oil at the start of cooking, then build vegetables, dahl, or grains on top. Surya also uses the blend as a finishing sprinkle over roasted vegetables, rice, or scrambled eggs whenever a warming lift is welcome at the table.

The Energizing Digestive Spices are formulated for kapha balance, meaning heavy, cold, or sluggish digestion. Surya designs them to blend into the Spiced Ghee at the start of cooking, so herbs traditionally used to warm the belly, cut lingering fullness, and lift a foggy morning arrive on the same spoonful.
